Fire & Rain

Bobby Womack’s rendition of James Taylor’s Fire and Rain sets the tone for a dark journey of a young man. While he drives through the night and recalls some of his most cherished memories, this young man knows that all good things must come to an end. I directed and edited this short film with the help of some tireless family members and dedicated friends.

Behind the Scenes

This video was filmed using multiple locations and spanned over weeks. I planned for months figuring out specific shots, scouting locations and how to safely film on a moving car. We built an off-door camera rig and created our own dolly system for big pan shots. This project was not only about bringing the viewer along for a ride, but it was also a test to capture the shots of a big budget video production with virtually no budget. With my efforts to reach a big production value, I subsequently drew the attention from the police. It turns out that a large plume of smoke creeping from an abandoned road is not the best way to keep a low profile.
